Dr. Ana M. Catafau

15+ years of expertise in neuroimaging research with SPECT and PET in academia at University Hospitals Clinic & Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain, and Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore, MA, US.

She was Associate Professor of Nuclear Medicine at Autonomous University of Barcelona, served as Chair of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine Neuroimaging Committee, and is member of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine Editorial Board. She also serves as member of scientific committees of international congresses.

She is currently Vice-President of the Clinical Research and Development Neurosciences Department at Piramal Imaging GmbH. Prior to Piramal Imaging, Dr. Catafau founded and was President of Barcelona Imaging Group, S.L. (BIG) for 3 years, after having served for 8 years at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as Director of the Barcelona Imaging Unit and as Clinical Imaging Lead, at the GSK Discovery Medicine Neurosciences Center of Excellence for Drug Discovery.
